We are pleased to let you know that Bill McDonough has just returned from Sri Lanka and Indonesia and reports that the relief work is progressing well.
Fifteen hundred Christians on the island of Nias, Indonesia are busy helping the thousands of victims. They have distributed emergency relief supplies (food, clothing, cooking utensils and some money) and are now preparing to help in the rebuilding process.
In Sri Lanka, Christians have adopted widows and their families. These families lost everything in the tsunami and these Christians are helping them to rebuild their lives.
Words and pictures cannot adequately describe the suffering. When people escape with only the clothes on their back and, in the process, lose family, property and, in some cases, even their land was washed out to sea, they ask, "What is left to live for?" Your partnering with us is making it possible for some of them to put what is left back together and in the process find solace in the Lord.
