This has been a great week with someone coming to be baptized almost every day. Today a young man asked his teacher Bob Diles, if he could be baptized, after they had studied the Ethiopian eunuch’s story and Bob replied, “If you believe you can?” He was baptized by the local evangelist in one of our bathtubs.
Dr. Jack McCorkle from the Prestoncrest congregation in Dallas, Texas, has held clinic every morning and then joined the Bible teachers each afternoon. The last two mornings when I went to pick him up he was sitting with his open Bible teach some of those that had come to him for treatment.
The Ministry of health informed me today that our “”Memorandum Of Understanding” for the Clinical boat on the Mekong River, would soon be ready for formal signing so it shouldn’t be long now until we have al of the approvals and can begin the shipbuilding. It will be built in Vietnam and I’ll need to go to Saigon (1 hour flight) once or twice a month during the nine month construction process.
Our Semi Annual Bible Seminar is scheduled for April 19 – 30 with three brethren coming from abroad to help teach the twenty to thirty men that are planning to attend. We will all stay in a rural setting where we can devote eight hours a day to Bible study. It should help to greatly strengthen the village churches. We will be studying Hebrews, “The God of the Old Testament”, and the teachings of Jesus with emphasis on ethics.
The digging of water wells continues in two more villages. One well will supply five hundred school children with water.
