Phnom Penh - July 3, 2004: This week one of the young preacher students went to a village and taught and baptized twenty four people. We could start a new congregation or two every week if we had the workers.

English Bible Study Students are coming back from vacation and we will have a full schedule in another day or two. Sam & Mary Carpenter from Alabama are with us now and doing a great job. Sam is a retired banker and they love to work for the Lord around the world having spent a .lot of time in the Caribbean and time in the Ukraine.

I will begin teaching a new course next week using the New Life Ministries Character Building material. We will teach the same lesson at four different times a day to groups of around 20. These are university students who have:

1. Completed World English Institute courses, or
2. Students we are unable to provide a private teacher for at the present.

Those who attend this course will be the list from which we select new students for the private studies, which they all want to take. The course is made up from Biblical principles and begins with Where did I come from and why am I here, progressing on to why do I do the things I do and how can I change my behavior?

Work is being done to formulate a plan to help starving villagers. Hoping to address the problem of malnutrition and hunger we are using the experience and knowledge of one of the young Christians to help us develop the plan. He worked eight years with a humanitarian Sid organization as a village project manager and understands the problem well and has helped in developing projects that have been successful. With hunger and malnutrition everywhere we feel we simply cannot close our eyes to the need. We know whatever we do will also show people Christianity in action and be the pivotal point to bring many to the Master. We ask you to please partner with us in asking the Lord to give us wisdom and courage to do His will.
