Garmish Germany is the site of the 40th Annual Euro/American Retreat, where this year missionaries from twenty nations met for R&R (Retreat & Revival). Participants come from as far away as Japan and South Africa to be challenged and inspired by keynote speakers Howard Norton, Tex Williams, Gordon Hogan and Gary Walker.
They also have an opportunity for meaningful dialogue with fellow missionaries on vital questions such as “How to build a responsible church” and “How to do humanitarian work without creating dependency.” Since its inception forty years ago by Christians in the U.S. military, the purpose of this retreat has remained the same. Its participants, however, have become primarily missionaries as the U.S. military pulled out of Europe and missionary forces moved into Eastern Europe.
Sixteen of the last forty years YOU have been a part of this training and fellowship program for our missionaries. As I planned the program, you have been there. As we welcomed the missionaries to the retreat each year, you were there. Some of the participants tell us they could not make it through the year without this encouraging event. Together, we are providing this much sought opportunity. This is just another example of WindSong’s world outreach. More than one hundred and sixty participants at this year’s retreat thank you.
